2012 will be another hard year competing in the extremely competitive Ma5da Racing Championship. Development of the car over the winter should put us in a stronger position than when we ended 2011.

My aims for this year are to make sure that I regulalrly qualify in the top ten, and aim for the podium positions. At least one podium would be a great reward for all the hard work that has gone into the car.

Dads Mazda MX5 BBR Turbo September 2000 G710 GFS
Perhaps this was the main influence behind racing the MX5? Dad’s MX5 BBR Turbo. If somebody had told my excited eight year old self that in ten years time i’d be the one that was racing round the Brands Hatch circuit that we were on our way to visit I would never of beleived them! Back then, the best part of that car was making the headlights pop up when we saw another MX5 (that was my job). Now it’s all about chasing the last tenth of a second through setup and engine tweaks. I hope this car is still alive and given the links with the MX5 owners club, I wonder if I’ll see it again on our tour of the country for the 2012 Ma5da Racing season.
