Brands Hatch Circuit Details
Fastest Lap: 55.80 (Indy Circuit) | 1:47.87 (GP Circuit)
As my local track, Brands is definitely a firm favourite, and one that I’d always wanted to race at when my Dad used to take me to watch the racing when I was younger.
No matter how many laps I have done around Brands Hatch the first corner, Paddock Hill Bend, is such a buzz. The track starts to drop away and curve as you enter the braking zone where you cannot see the corner exit. You have to trust your instincts as the car goes light at the apex, and just wait for the grip as you hit the dip at the bottom.
Occasionally we’ll get the opportunity to compete on the GP circuit. This adds a completely different dimension to the circuit as you head out into the woods for a very fast, flowing set of corners that takes a lot of commitment. In the wet this section of track offers a huge amount of grip over the Indy circuit as it’s raced on so infrequently.
